Refund policy

This Policy and the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (“CPA”) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (“ECT”) shall apply to goods bought from Sony Music Entertainment Africa (Pty) Ltd and any of its affiliates, subsidiaries or any parent company (“we”, “us” or “our”). If you are not completely satisfied with the goods purchased from us, you can return the goods to us and we will either replace it or credit your account, subject to the below terms.

This Policy forms part of the Webstore Terms and Conditions.

 

1.     Non-sale and Non-promotional goods

1.1  Only defective or incorrect goods may be returned to us, at no charge, provided:

(a)   The request for a refund or exchange is made within 30 days of an incorrect product being delivered to you. After 30 days, you shall only be entitled to return the product if it is defective;

(b)   The said goods are undamaged and unused, with the original labels and stickers still attached;

(c)   The said goods are returned, accompanied with the original proof of purchase;

(d)   In the event of goods purchased as part of a combo deal (i.e. with other goods), all goods forming part of such deal must be returned together.

1.2  We are entitled to inspect the product and validate any returns.

1.3  In the event of any incorrect goods being delivered to you, or the goods delivered are not as described on the Site, or are damaged at the time of delivery, we request that you immediately (no later than 30 (thirty) days from the date of delivery) notify us of same and we will collect the goods from you, at no charge. Once we have inspected the goods and verify your claim, we will, at your election, deliver the correct goods to you (subject to availability), credit your account with the purchase price or refund you the purchase price of the goods, as soon as is reasonably possible.

1.4  The following will not be regarded as defects and will not entitle you to a return of the goods:

(a)   Faults resulting from normal wear and tear;

(b)   Damage resulting from negligence, user abuse or incorrect usage of the goods;

(c)   Damages arising from a failure to adequately care for the goods;

(d)   Damage arising from the unauthorised alterations to the goods.

 

2.     Sale and Promotional goods          

2.1  There shall be no returns of goods purchased on sale or as part of a promotional campaign.

 

3.     Warranties

3.1  In the event of any goods being delivered to you and are defective or of a poor quality, we request that you immediately notify us of same, but in any event, no later than 6 (six) months after delivery. You can do so, by sending an e-mail to customersupportza@sonymusic.com.

3.2  Once we have inspected the goods and validated the return, we will at your election, either replace the goods (if possible), credit your account with the purchase price of the goods or refund you the purchase price of the goods.

3.3  There are no extended warranties in respect of goods sold on the Site.

  

4.     Exclusions

4.1  You will not be entitled to return goods which have been altered or attempts at repairs have been carried out by you or any other person.

4.2  If a defective product is returned to us, but you fail to return any accessories which may have been sold with the product, we are entitled to refuse the return or to only replace the item which was returned to us, or to estimate the value of the missing accessories and parts and credit or refund you in respect of the returned goods.

4.3  In the event that you return a product that does not comply with this Policy, you will be liable to reimburse us for the costs of collection of the product from you and the cost of having the product returned to you.

4.4  Refunds of payments will only be made to the same debit or credit card used to make the initial payment or in the case of an EFT, to your nominated bank account.
